Anne was nominated for her performance as Mia Hernandez in the Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean series It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. The role highlighted her versatility as she portrayed a complex and emotionally demanding character originally played by Seo Yea-ji.

The Outstanding Asian Star category recognizes top television actors across the region, placing Anne alongside some of Asia’s most prominent entertainment figures.

Upon learning of her nomination, Anne took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, June 15, expressing both excitement and humility. She also acknowledged the strong fan voting power of fellow nominee Jisoo of BLACKPINK, writing:

“OMG I'm so kilig. I don't stand a chance against the voting power of jisoo but I'm so grateful to even be nominated.”

The Seoul International Drama Awards is an annual event honoring excellence in television drama worldwide, with winners for this category determined largely through global fan voting.

Despite the strong competition, fans of Anne quickly rallied online, flooding social media with congratulatory messages and voting campaigns in support of the Filipino actress.

Anne Curtis-Smith is a Filipino-Australian actress and television host who rose to fame through her memorable performances in TV dramas like Hiram, Maging Sino Ka Man, and Dyosa. Since 2009, she has been one of the main hosts of ABS-CBN’s long-running noontime variety show It’s Showtime. She is also the younger sister of actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith. In her personal life, Anne is married to restaurateur and content creator Erwan Heussaff, and they welcomed their daughter, Dahlia Amélie, in 2020.

Following the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Mindanao on June 8, Anne was among the first public figures to react, voicing concern for those impacted. She turned to social media to encourage prayers and empathy for affected communities. Her message rapidly gained traction online and was widely shared.

Erwan shared in an episode of Matte G. Primetime that he has no issues with his wife Anne doing love scenes in films. According to Erwan, he is already used to it since he met Anne when she was already acting in movies and performing romantic scenes with different leading men. He admitted that things only become awkward during block screenings when he notices people he knows glancing at him while his wife’s scenes are being shown. He also recalled a screening of “The Loved One” with Jericho Rosales, where he jokingly told staff not to look at him during a kissing scene.
