Authorities confirmed that aside from the mother and child who died, five other residents inside the house sustained injuries and were immediately brought for treatment.

The father of one of the victims said some of the residents were sleeping when the truck suddenly crashed into their house.

Investigators are still determining additional details surrounding the accident, including the condition of the truck before the incident occurred.

Police authorities said they are also waiting for the decision of the victims’ relatives on whether they will pursue legal action against the truck driver.

The incident has raised concerns among residents about road safety and the condition of heavy vehicles passing through mountain roads in the area.
