The remark came from a post shared by ABS-CBN News featuring Alvin’s statements from a DZAR radio interview. The post included an art card showing Alvin’s explanation about Izzy’s decision to step away from the group and the reason behind it.
In the quoted statement shown on the art card, Alvin, a former StarStruck season one alum, said: “Sino ang nagpa-resign [kay Izzy Trazona] sa SexBomb? Ang Panginoon noong naging Christian si Izzy. Pinag-resign ng Lord. Sabi ni Lord kay Izzy, 'Come, follow me. I will make you fishers of men.' Nag-obey si Izzy do'n.”

Izzy Trazona was a key member of the SexBomb Dancers, the Philippines’ iconic girl group of the 2000s. Gaining fame through Eat Bulaga, the group’s music and choreography became a cultural touchstone.
In an interview on Abante’s “Jigo Live,” Alvin Aragon criticized Bulacan Vice Governor Alex Castro for allowing his wife, Sunshine Garcia, to perform at the SexBomb reunion concert. According to Alvin, it is a husband’s duty to protect his wife from the attention of other men, especially regarding her attire on stage. The StarStruck alum also shared his strong stance on faith and respect for his wife, Izzy Trazona, which he has upheld since they became engaged.
Alvin also openly expressed his disagreement with his stepdaughter Sofia, formerly known as Andrei Trazona, being a trans woman. The actor said that his statements were based on his interpretation of what is written in the Bible. He also clarified that, as a parent, he only wants to guide his child’s path to prevent harm in the future. His remarks, particularly those involving matters of faith, drew a wide range of reactions from netizens.
