Yeng Constantino has established herself as one of the most prominent singer-songwriters in Philippine music and a notable figure in OPM. Her career began to take off after she won the inaugural season of “Pinoy Dream Academy” in 2006, leading to widespread recognition for her distinctive vocals and emotionally resonant songwriting. Among her best-known songs are “Hawak Kamay,” “Salamat,” “Ikaw,” and “Jeepney Love Story,” with her music often drawing from themes of romance, faith, relationships, and personal experiences. Her work has earned numerous awards and recognitions throughout her career. In her personal life, Yeng married musician and songwriter Victor “Yan” Asuncion in February 2015, and they have continued to build their life together while navigating their respective careers and family responsibilities.

Yeng previously clarified the meaning behind her viral “seenzone” comments involving Ryan Bang. During her 20th anniversary concert, she had jokingly described their past connection in a way that suggested she had been ignored romantically. She later explained that this was not the full story behind why the two eventually drifted apart many years ago. Yeng said there were deeper reasons involved and that Ryan had recently opened up to her about his perspective, allowing her to understand their past interaction more clearly.

Before establishing herself as a successful recording artist, Yeng also recalled an unexpected attempt to enter the entertainment industry through the SexBomb Girls. During an appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” she revealed that her mother had encouraged her to audition because she wanted Yeng to become an artist. Yeng said she eventually discovered that dancing was not her strongest skill and did not make it into the group. The experience nevertheless became one of the interesting early chapters in the career of an artist who would later find success primarily through singing, songwriting, and performing.
