Yeng Constantino has clarified her viral “seenzone” comments about Ryan Bang, explaining that what she jokingly described during her 20th anniversary concert was not actually the complete reason why the two drifted apart many years ago.

The singer discussed the matter during her appearance on GMA Network’s “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” where she took the opportunity to correct the impression created by her remarks at her concert.

Yeng and Ryan had recently shared a highly emotional interaction during Yeng’s anniversary concert, where the singer reminisced about their history from years earlier. Their connection dated back to a time when Yeng had not yet married and Ryan had not yet reached the level of fame he enjoys today.

During the concert, Yeng referred to their past as a case of her being “seenzone,” a term commonly used when someone feels that their messages or romantic advances have been ignored. However, she explained to Boy Abunda that the phrase did not accurately capture what really happened between them.

“Well, I really do feel like a new I just want to also correct, Tito Boy, ’yung nasabi ko sa concert na sabi ko, ‘na-seenzone ako.’ Kasi there’s a deeper reason pala kaya kami nag-drift apart. So, ’yung seenzone, hindi talaga siya seenzone,” Yeng explained.

According to Yeng, Ryan recently reached out to her and provided more context about what he experienced at the time.

One detail that particularly stood out was Ryan’s revelation that he had actually made an effort to learn how to cook for Yeng because he could not afford to take her out.

“Minessage niya ako, ‘Alam mo ba ’yung reason noon, nag-aral ako magluto for you kasi hindi kita kayang ilibre,’” Yeng recalled.

The revelation gave Yeng a different perspective on Ryan’s actions and feelings during that period. What she had previously characterized in a lighter way as being “seenzone” was apparently connected to misunderstandings and circumstances involving both of them.

Yeng remembered an incident in which Ryan invited or expected her to visit his home, but she declined because of a personal boundary she had at the time.

“Tapos nag-sabi ko sa kanya [noon], ‘Uy, Ryan pasensya na. Hindi kasi ako pumupunta sa bahay ng lalaki,’” she recounted.

Ryan reportedly became hurt by the explanation because, from his perspective, something that happened shortly afterward appeared contradictory.

That same week, Yeng said she and members of their Bible group went on an outing to Tagaytay. The group included Kuya Richard and Kuya Eric, among others, and there were also women present.

For Ryan, however, the fact that Yeng was willing to go on an out-of-town trip with a group that included men apparently created confusion.

“But may mga kasama rin po kaming babae—nagpunta kaming Tagaytay. So sa kanya, sa isip niya, ‘Sabi mo hindi ka nagpupunta sa bahay ng lalaki. Pero bakit ang kasama mong mag-out of town ay mga lalaki rin,’” Yeng explained.

Looking back, Yeng said she appreciated Ryan for finally opening up about what he had been thinking at the time. Rather than dismissing his feelings, she told him that hearing his explanation helped her understand his perspective better.

“So sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Salamat for opening up at least mas naiintindihan ko,’” she said.

Yeng also emphasized that the incident was not the sole reason their relationship eventually became distant. According to the singer, Ryan had shared several other thoughts and experiences with her that helped provide a fuller picture of why their connection changed over the years.

“Actually, isa lang ’yan sa mga rason. Marami pa po siyang na-message sa akin na mas naiintindihan ko siya,” she added.

Her clarification comes after their emotional reunion became one of the memorable moments associated with Yeng’s 20th anniversary concert. Their story has attracted attention partly because it involves an earlier chapter in both of their lives, before Yeng’s marriage to Victor “Yan” Asuncion and before Ryan became the established television personality known by Filipino audiences today.

During a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview, Yeng also recalled an unexpected chapter from before her music career fully took shape: she once auditioned for the SexBomb Girls. Her mother had encouraged her to try out because she hoped Yeng could pursue a career as an artist. Yeng, however, acknowledged that dancing was not her strongest ability and ultimately did not make it into the group.

Yeng has also openly shown how much her fans’ support means to her. She became emotional after tickets for the Laguna leg of her “Biyaheng Bente” tour sold out within only two hours. Her husband, Yan Asuncion, captured a candid moment at home showing the singer crying from a mixture of joy, relief, and gratitude before the couple went out to play pickleball. Yeng revealed that her emotions had already started taking over even before the concert tickets officially sold out, as the sight of the long line of fans waiting to purchase them was enough to make her cry.
