Ruffa Gutierrez addressed domestic violence as one of the judges on It's Showtime: Reina Ng Tahanan.
She then proceeded to make comments about the candidates while one of them had been a victim of domestic abuse.
The beauty queen admitted that the topic had an impact on her. She also said that no one is deserving of such treatment. Moreover, she encouraged everyone to love themselves and make a stand.
"We deserve more than that. So, let's love ourselves. Especially pagdating sa domestic violence, wag nating hayaan na itrato tayo ng gano'n ng mga asawa natin 'di ba. Make a stand. We do have a choice in our lives," she said.

Ruffa began to cry when she needed to speak with one of the candidates.
Furthermore, Ruffa bravely confessed that she had also suffered in the past and encouraged the Reinanay contestant to stand up for herself.
"Pero ako nagtiis din ako, nagtiis din ako noon. Pero there's a time na we have to stop. Kaya natin yan, nanay. Please, wag n'yo hahayaang tratuhin kayo ng gano'n," she added.

Ruffa Gutierrez is a former beauty queen and Filipina actress. In 1993, she was the second runner-up in the Miss World competition. She belongs to a well-known family - the Gutierrez clan.

Ruffa once revealed that she cried when bidding farewell to her daughter Lorin Bektas as she started her school at Pepperdine University in California. However, Lorin's famous mother also expressed her appreciation for her daughter for being beautiful, intelligent, and diligent.
Lorin graduated from high school at The British School Manila before beginning her freshman year in the United States. Ruffa shared numerous photos of herself posing with her daughter, dressed in her toga and cap for the graduation ceremony.
