Biography
Rose was born on 11th February 1997 in Auckland, New Zealand, as Roseanne Park Chae Young (박채영. She was born to South Korean immigrant parents. Even though the names of her parents haven’t been publicly revealed yet, her father is a lawyer while her mother is a business lady.
Rose has one elder sister who goes by the name Alice. Alice, who is four years elder than Rose, serves as a lawyer just like her father. In 2004, when she was seven years old, the singer and her family relocated to Melbourne in Australia.
Rose attended Canterbury Girls Secondary College in Melbourne. She had a passion for singing at a young age and was part of her church's choir.
Career
She began her career after taking part in the YG Entertainment auditions, in Sydney Australia. During the auditions, she emerged in the first position after beating 700 other contestants. She became a trainee at YG Entertainment from that day on for a period of four years.
When she was through with the training, the entertainment group put her as the lead dancer and the main vocalist of Blackpink. Rose was the last member to be revealed in the group of four. Less than six months after becoming a member of the YG Entertainment, she featured on G-Dragon’s One of a Kind EP on the hit song dubbed Without You.
She made her debut under the YG Entertainment as a member of the Blackpink on 8th August 2016. On 17th October 2018, the entertainment group announced that she would be the next person from the band to debut solo after Jennie. After Blackpink released their comeback dubbed Kill This Love, she released her solo hit on 8th February 2019.
