John Lapus created a massive buzz due to his fiery social media post about former President Rodrigo Duterte.

On X, formerly Twitter, the comedian and television director shared Inquirer.net’s post containing a story about Sen. Bong Go seeking prayers for Duterte.

“Bong Go asks nation to pray for ex-Pres Rodrigo Duterte,” the story’s headline reads.

Furthermore, Lapus wrote his short but brave prayer regarding the former chief executive.

“I pray na makulong (I pray he will be imprisoned),” Lapus penned along with a prayer emoji.

Duterte has recently boarded a chartered flight nearly 12 hours after his arrest at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila.

According to an update by ABS-CBN News, the chartered flight was reportedly bound for The Hague, Netherlands, with the former leader facing charges before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

He was also permitted to bring three companions, including former Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, who is a Filipino lawyer who served under Duterte during his rule from 2016 to 2022.

FPRRD's arrest on March 11, 2025, followed the issuance of an ICC warrant accusing him of crimes against humanity related to his administration's controversial war on dr&gs.

Before he boarded a chartered flight bound for the Netherlands, the former head of the Philippines was detained at NAIA upon returning from a trip in Hong Kong.

Senator Bong Go has taken to his official Facebook page to post another update about former President Rodrigo Duterte. In his post published on Wednesday afternoon, March 12, Go revealed that Duterte is in Dubai. “Tatay Digong is currently in Dubai,” Go wrote along with a couple of photos of Duterte on the plane. The senator went on to urge the public to pray for the former leader.

Previously, Rodrigo Duterte’s granddaughter, Isabelle Duterte, penned a heartfelt message to the former president. In her message posted on Facebook, the daughter of Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte expressed her utmost support for FPRRD. Isabelle further vowed to forever defend her grandfather’s name. She published the earnest message after FPRRD was arrested.
