Investigators said the family did not know what caused the disagreement.

The victim was later found dead behind the wall. Police also recovered a knife from the house, which investigators believe may have been used in the crime.

Authorities launched a hot pursuit operation and arrested the suspect in Barangay San Juan, Molo, Iloilo City on Saturday.

Based on statements given by relatives to investigators, the suspect had previously undergone rehabilitation because of problems involving alcohol, cigarettes, and gambling.

He claimed that the accusations against him were fabricated by his other siblings because they allegedly wanted him jailed so they could gain control of their family's properties.

The relatives later declined to give further interviews regarding the case.
