A four-year-old girl died after she was hit and run over by an SUV in Barangay Bambang, Pasig.

The incident was featured in a report by EJ Gomez on GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita.
Based on the report, a man and a woman were crossing the road when the young girl, who was following behind them, suddenly ran toward the middle of the street.
The child was then struck and run over by an SUV.

A woman who witnessed what happened immediately approached the girl as she lay on the road. Other residents later came to the area, including the child’s mother.
Barangay officials said someone riding a motorcycle went after the SUV and informed the driver that a child had been hit.
The driver reportedly returned to the scene after being told about the accident.
He then used the same SUV to bring the four-year-old girl to the hospital.
Sadly, the child was later pronounced dead.
The girl’s mother became emotional as she recalled the final conversation she had with her daughter before the accident.
“Biglang sabi niya na nagugutom pa siya. Sabi niya bibili siya ng biskuit,” she shared.
She said she allowed her daughter to get something to eat but reminded her not to go far.
“Sabi ko, ‘Sige diyan lang. Huwag kang lalayo,’” the grieving mother recalled.
Only a short time later, she learned about what had happened.
“Sobra sobrang sakit,” she said.
According to the barangay, the height of the SUV may have affected the driver’s view of the child.
An official explained that the front portion of the vehicle was relatively high while the girl was small, making it possible that the driver did not immediately see her.
Authorities, however, are still investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
According to the report, the driver initially questioned whether his vehicle had been the one involved. The SUV reportedly had a scratch, and the authorities later confirmed the vehicle through footage of the incident.
The Pasig City Police were able to obtain the SUV’s plate number as part of their investigation.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead outside a school in Barangay Prinza, Teresa, Rizal, on Thursday afternoon, triggering a police manhunt and leaving his family grieving. According to a report by GMA News' "Unang Balita," the victim was shot in the head at around 4 p.m. The gunman reportedly escaped immediately after the attack. A viral video of the incident showed the victim lying on the ground while his live-in partner stayed beside him carrying their infant child. Barangay officials and tanods quickly responded to clear the area, especially after students and residents gathered near the scene.
