According to a report by GMA News, the victims had arranged to meet the supposed buyers to sell their mobile phones. The meetup location was changed several times before the suspects finally asked them to meet along a roadside in Barangay North Signal.
The 21-year-old victim said they became suspicious after the buyers insisted on meeting in a dark area, but they still proceeded with the transaction.

The victim said the robbery was captured by his camera glasses. The footage showed one of the suspects arriving on a motorcycle, shaking hands with him, and pretending to inspect the phones before suddenly pulling out a gun and announcing the hold-up.
His companion also recalled the frightening encounter after one of the suspects grabbed his bag.
The suspects fled on their motorcycle after taking a bag containing four cellphones worth around P140,000 and P25,000 in cash, for a total of about P165,000.
Police later conducted a backtracking operation that led to the arrest of one of the alleged suspects. Authorities also recovered a firearm from his possession and are determining how he obtained it and who its registered owner is.
