The senator lamented what he sees as growing issues affecting the institution’s reputation. He suggested that incidents such as these only add to public criticism of the Senate.

Tulfo then detailed what allegedly happened while they were waiting.

“Lahat kami, 11, nandoon kami sa floor… Naghintay kami, after more than an hour, all of a sudden biglang uminit… Lahat kami nainitan na, ‘yun pala pinatayan kami. And then gusto naming gamitin ‘yung internet, pinatayan na rin,” aniya.

Based on his account, the minority senators initially did not realize why the room had become warmer. They later allegedly learned that the air-conditioning system had been turned off. Tulfo further claimed that internet access was also unavailable when they attempted to use it.

The remarks quickly drew attention online, with the senator’s allegations adding another layer to ongoing discussions about tensions within the Senate. As of posting, the claims have generated public interest and prompted questions about the circumstances surrounding the scheduled session and the reported conditions inside the plenary hall.
