The man allegedly tried to steal copper wire from the construction site when he got electrocut3d.
A female witness said her husband warned the victim not to go inside because there might be an open source of electricity inside the construction site.
The victim still proceeded inside, and residents were just shocked when they heard loud explosions.
Rescuers came, but it was too late because the victim was already lifeless and floating in a canal.
In the Philippines, fault for an electr*cution death at a construction site often falls on the construction company or main contractor, especially if safety protocols were not followed. Employers are legally required to ensure a safe work environment under the Occupational Safety and Health Standards. Subcontractors or engineers may also be held liable if their negligence contributed to the incident. Investigations by authorities like DOLE and the PNP determine accountability, and the victim’s family may pursue legal action for compensation.
