The incident occurred in a sewer that is part of a flood control project in the area.

As reported by TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the man was said to be a collector of scrap materials.

The same report mentioned that the man had been warned not to enter the construction site due to the dangers involved.

The man allegedly tried to steal copper wire from the construction site when he got electrocut3d.

A female witness said her husband warned the victim not to go inside because there might be an open source of electricity inside the construction site.

The victim still proceeded inside, and residents were just shocked when they heard loud explosions.

Rescuers came, but it was too late because the victim was already lifeless and floating in a canal.

In the Philippines, fault for an electr*cution death at a construction site often falls on the construction company or main contractor, especially if safety protocols were not followed. Employers are legally required to ensure a safe work environment under the Occupational Safety and Health Standards. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
