A man driving a pickup truck was fatally shot by a policeman following a heated road altercation in Quezon City.

The incident occurred while the victim was traveling from Antipolo to Bulacan.

According to a witness who was a passenger in the pickup, the conflict started when a closed van, driven by the suspect, allegedly forced its way close to their vehicle.

This angered the victim, who then retaliated with a similar maneuver.

The witness further claimed that the closed van eventually blocked their path, and the driver—who was later identified as a police officer—stepped out of his vehicle.

The suspect allegedly approached the pickup, punched the victim, and then shot him.

Following the incident, the suspect voluntarily surrendered at the Batasan Police Station.

The policeman is 48 years old and has the rank of Police Executive Master Sergeant.

He is assigned at the aforementioned station, and has been turned over to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit at Camp Karingal.

As for the companions of the victim, they expressed hopes that the suspect would be jailed.

Authorities have yet to release further details regarding the case, including the identity of the policeman involved and the potential charges he may face.

Investigations are currently underway to determine the full circumstances leading to the shooting.
