Kitty Duterte, daughter of former president Rodrigo Duterte, delivered a strong message to the Filipino people.

Through her Instagram account, Kitty urged Filipino citizens to pray and stand for what is right.

This comes as the former president is set to appear before the pre-trial chamber of the ICC, which will take place tonight at 9 PM.

She also reminded the public to act not as mere supporters but as Filipinos.

Kitty's Instagram story reads:

"Madayaw! I am Veronica Duterte. Tonight at 9 pm, my father, FPRRD, is going to stand before the Pre-Trial Chamber of the ICC. I am calling unto you, not as his supporters, but as Filipinos, to stand for what is right and light a candle, whether you are in the Philippines or abroad. Let us be one in prayer and one in upholding our rights to this sovereignty. Daghang Salamat!"

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is a permanent tribunal that prosecutes individuals for genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and aggression. Established by the Rome Statute in 1998 and operational since 2002, it is based in The Hague, Netherlands, and works independently while cooperating with the United Nations.

In a previous report by KAMI, Veronica Duterte, more popularly known as Kitty Duterte, daughter of former president Rodrigo Duterte, claimed that they're being illegally detained. In her Instagram stories, Kitty shared a photo of a medical certificate proving that her father needed immediate medical attention. This was after the recent arrest of the former president after a warrant of arrest was reportedly issued by the ICC against him for crimes against humanity. Prior to her post, an image of Duterte where his blood pressure was being taken circulated the internet.

In another viral news related to this issue, Atty. Salvador Panelo issued a strong statement against Senator Imee Marcos. The message was taken in front of the press people where Atty. Panelo was asked a question involving Senator Imee. One of the press people asked Panelo what his thoughts were about the recently issued statement about the senator about being unable to join a campaign rally in Tacloban because she couldn't accept what happened to former president Rodrigo Duterte. Panelo first sang a song with the lines, "Balatkayo pa nga..." then he straightforwardly said, "Bolahin mo lelang mo!"
