At 47, Angelu continues to balance her career in acting with her responsibilities as a Pasig City councilor, wife, and mother of three. For the actress, being able to pursue both acting and public service is something she considers a blessing.
“Life is very good. Kaya naman ng time management and enjoying. I’m blessed to be doing two things I equally love. And I can’t ask for anything else. Siyempre may mga high and lows, may mga times na matatanong mo talaga sa sarili mo kung anon bang ginagawa mo sa sarili mo (laughs). But you know, overall, I can’t complain. It’s just really good to be doing so many things na hindi naman for your own benefit,” she told PUSH ABS-CBN during the launch of Marie France’s Go Lose Pounds weight management program in Makati City.
Angelu began her showbiz career at a young age as part of the iconic ABS-CBN program Ang TV. She later became known for her roles in popular youth-oriented series such as T.G.I.S. (Thank God It's Sabado) and Growing Up.

While she remains grateful for her successful career, Angelu also looked back on the period when she had to take a step back from acting after becoming a young mother during the height of her career.
She openly shared her experience to remind young women that becoming a mother at a young age comes with challenges that should not be taken lightly.
“Yung first talaga is, kung puwede lang, if you would hear my story, sana huwag na kayong mapunta sa landas na yun. I tell my story openly because I want people to say na even if they see the result na I have two beautiful children and ganun yung storya ko, parang maganda yung end product, na kaya naman niya or kinaya naman niya. But during the journey, I will tell you it was not easy.”
Angelu emphasized that although her story eventually led to a life she is grateful for, the journey itself was difficult.
“And if you can preserve yourself, if you can live a normal teenage life without that burden for that time, huwag niyo na gawin. Hindi kasi siya madali,” she continued.
Still, Angelu acknowledged that every person has a different path and stressed the importance of accepting responsibility when faced with an unexpected pregnancy.
“Unang una, you have to reflect and know and accept yung responsibility. Alam niyo naman yung ginawa niyo, alam niyo naman paano niyo ginawa yun, alam niyo naman bakit nangyari yun,” she said.
For Angelu, however, the circumstances surrounding a pregnancy do not diminish the value of the life that comes from it.
“Pero it doesn’t stop the fact that it is there for a reason and whatever it is, it is precious, it is a miracle.”
She also reminded young women that asking for support and relying on faith can help them through difficult circumstances.
“Ako na po nagsasabi, it won’t be easy. Sinasabi ko sa inyo na hindi siya madali, but God will provide the people who will love you and care for you. Basta tandaan niyo, it is a miracle that you have,” Angelu said.
Meanwhile, the actress continues to appreciate the support she receives from fans who grew up watching her during her T.G.I.S. days. During the Marie France event, she reunited with fellow T.G.I.S. alumni Bernadette Allyson and Polo Ravales, amid reports of a possible reunion project.
Angelu said she remains grateful for the lasting affection of fans and the career she built through the years.
“I must have done something right along the way you know, to be loved like that,” she shared.
In a recent social media post, Angelu also reflected on her changing place in showbiz and the importance of accepting different seasons in life.
“Showbiz will always be part of me, and I’m grateful that until now, I’m still part of it.”
She acknowledged that new talents will continue to emerge and that the younger generation will eventually take center stage.
“It’s all about acceptance. I’ve had my moments in the spotlight, and I will forever treasure those experiences.”
For Angelu, there is no need to always be the center of attention. Instead, she believes there is beauty in appreciating one's own journey while being happy for others.
“Hindi naman kailangang tayo palagi ang bida. There is beauty in knowing your place, embracing every season of life, and being genuinely happy for those who are given their time to shine.”
Her story, meanwhile, continues to reflect both the difficult realities of becoming a young mother and the gratitude she now has for the life she has built.

In another report, Angelu de Leon opened up about the pressure celebrities experience regarding their weight and physical appearance. She observed that social media has made hurtful comments more visible and widespread, which can be especially difficult for younger stars establishing their careers.
Meanwhile, Angelu de Leon looked back on her first pregnancy and her unexpected departure from “Growing Up.” She admitted that pride played a role in how she dealt with the situation at the time and revealed that she still finds it difficult to watch the teen series’ final episode.
