According to Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras,” Alden even asked permission to skip taping for “Code Grey” because he considered the celebration an important event he could not miss. The actor and Asia’s Multimedia Star used the occasion to express his support for educators and their role in improving literacy and education in the Philippines.

“I want you to know that I am with you teachers in the Philippines in this movement towards literacy and giving lessons to our youth,” he said in Filipino.

He said the experience made him realize how much still needs to be done in the education sector. Because of this, Alden expressed his willingness to take on a bigger role in supporting education and young Filipinos.

“This is my mission until the day I die,” he said.

The actor also noted that the documentary made him realize that he is not alone in wanting to create meaningful change. According to Alden, many other individuals share the same mission and vision when it comes to helping Filipino youth.

His commitment to education is also reflected in his long-running support for scholars. Alden revealed that he has been helping students for more than 10 years, drawing from his own understanding of the difficulties that come with pursuing an education without enough financial resources.

“I know what it's like to not have money to pay tuition, I know what it's like to be left behind while your classmates with money, your batchmates with money, go on ahead to college while you wait,” he said.

Alden emphasized that meaningful change requires consistency and action, even when recognition is not part of the goal.

“If we want change, then we have to be consistent,” Alden added.
“If no one will do it, I will—in secret... This is what feeds my soul.”

Rather than expecting anything in return from the people he helps, Alden hopes his scholars will eventually extend the same kindness to others.

“You don't owe me or the foundation or whoever,” he said.
“I believe that utang na loob is the hardest debt to pay in this lifetime, this lifetime given to us by God. So what I tell my scholars is, when the time comes that you're ready, it's your turn.”

For Alden, helping others is more than a personal advocacy. He described it as part of the legacy he hopes to leave behind and the way he wants to be remembered.
