The actor also mentioned that Jennylyn had done his makeup for the occasion. His update offered a glimpse of their everyday activities while questions about the controversy continued.
When asked about their initial reaction to Patrick’s interview, Dennis acknowledged that they were surprised. He explained that the matter involved events from many years ago, and things had already been quiet before the interview.
“Siyempre nagulat,” he said.
For him, directly approaching their family could have made a difference. He hoped the concerns could have been discussed among those involved before the situation became a public issue.
“Kung diniretso siya hindi sana nagkaroon ng ganitong gulo… Walang hindi nadadaan sa mabuting usapan,” read the quote highlighted in ABS-CBN News’ caption.
During the interview, Dennis was also asked whether they remained open to Patrick seeing Jazz despite everything that had happened.
The actor said there was no problem with that in principle. However, he acknowledged that the recent developments had made the situation more difficult. He maintained that a proper conversation could still help resolve their concerns.
Patrick is Jazz’s father from Jennylyn’s previous relationship. His interview with Ogie Diaz included his account of their past and his efforts to reconnect with their son.
Meanwhile, Dennis clarified that he and his wife had not arranged for him to speak on her behalf. His decision to address the issue came from his desire to defend their family.
He explained that, as a father, he considers protecting them one of his main responsibilities. When facing problems, he said it helps to remember that the family comes first.
Asked about his message to Jennylyn, the actor encouraged her to remain happy and thankful despite their difficulties. He also expressed gratitude for those who continue to support and defend them.
Alongside his response, Dennis appealed for the bashing to stop and urged the public to keep the children out of the controversy. He stressed that they should be protected from the conflict involving their parents.
