A suspect involved in the illegal sale of firearms gunned down two police officers in Bocaue, Bulacan.

The suspect opened fire and killed Police Staff Sergeants Dennis Cudiamat and Gian George Dela Cruz.

The suspect, who is now the subject of a police manhunt, has been identified as Edison Malubay Bayumbon, also known as 'Xander.'

Meanwhile, his brother, who is also a suspect, was successfully apprehended by authorities.

In a report in '24 Oras' in GMA 7, the incident happened during a buy-bust operation conducted in the said area on March 08, 2025.

Captured by CCTV, videos showed the suspect running away from a police officer in a motorcycle.

He hid on the bushes and when the police arrived, the suspect managed to take the policeman down.

He even shot him again, even if the officer was already down, seemed like he made sure to kill him.

The suspect took the officer's service firearm and motorcycle. In another incident, the same suspect shot and killed another police officer.

A P200,000 reward is now up for anyone who could provide reliable intel about the whereabouts of the suspect.

In a Facebook post, the Philippine National Police extended their condolences to the bereaved family of their fallen police officers.

"Lubos na nakikiramay ang Philippine National Police sa pagkamatay nina Police Staff Sergeants Dennis Cudiamat at Gian George Dela Cruz kapwa myembro ng Bocaue Municipal Police Station, na buong tapang na nagbuwis ng buhay habang isinasagawa ang isang operasyon laban sa ilegal na baril sa Bocaue, Bulacan noong Marso 8, 2025."

They promised to bring justice to Cudiamat and Dela Cruz's families.

"Tinitiyak namin sa kanilang pamilya na makakamit ang hustisya. Patuloy ang masusing imbestigasyon at isang malawakang hot pursuit operation ang isinasagawa upang mahuli ang natitirang suspek. Hindi kami titigil hangga’t hindi napapanagot ang mga nasa likod ng karumal-dumal na krimeng ito."
