Arnold Clavio was heartbroken over a video of a security guard shooing away a young girl, who was dressed in her school uniform, selling sampaguita garlands.

The guard assigned at SM Megamall was also caught destroying the child vendor's bundles of sampaguita. This prompted the girl to hit back with the ruined garlands while the guard retaliated by kicking the girl.
Igan then shared the video on his Instagram page and emotionally reacted to the scene.
“EHEM: Nakakadurog ng puso ang ipinarating na video na ito sa akin. Isang batang babae na nagtitinda ng sampaguita ang sinita at pinaalis ng guwardiya ng SM Megamall.”

“Pero hindi pa nakuntento, sinipa niya ang bata at sinira pa ng guwardiya ang paninda ng bata. Sa galit, hinampas niya ito sa guwardiya.”
The veteran broadcast journalist then aired support for the girl.
“Karamay ako sa naramdamang galit ng batang babae. Dito niya kinukuha ang pang-araw araw niyang baon at pangangailangan ng kanyang pamilya. Marangal ang kanyang trabaho sa pag-alok ng bulaklak. Hindi dapat naging marahas laban sa batang babae ang guwardiya.”
“Umaksyon na ang pamunuan ng SM Megamall at tinangal na sa trabaho ang guwardiya at tiniyak na di na ito makakapag-trabaho sa iba pang sangay ng SM.”
The news anchor went on to suggest, “Makakabuti na gawing scholar ng SM Foundation, Inc. ang batang babae.”
He also vowed to send some assistance to the girl through his foundation.
“Pinapahanap ko na rin sa IGAN Foundation ang batang babae para tumulong sa kanyang pag-aaral.”
“Hindi hadlang ang kahirapan para matupad ang iyong mga pangarap. Alam ko yan. Dahil galing akong hirap,” he added.
