For Wendell, being reserved around his castmates had something to do with the respect he had for them. However, that quiet behavior could sometimes give others a different impression.
“Iba yung respeto ko sa mga kasama ko sa Bubble Gang,” he explained.
He recalled that people would sometimes wonder whether he was not in the mood or did not want to join in. According to the actor, being quiet was simply part of his personality.
“Talaga ako, Tito Boy, tahimik talaga ako,” he said.
Wendell also remembered how overwhelming it felt to enter the entertainment industry at a young age. At around 17 or 18, he was already adjusting to professional commitments and the demands of work.
Looking back on that period, he described the experience as both overwhelming and shocking. Still, he recalled enjoying his time on the comedy show.
When Boy returned to his earlier statement and asked how playful he was outside work, the actor gave a more candid answer.
“Sobrang harot,” he admitted.
The exchange offered a different perspective on his younger years. While he could be playful away from work, he described himself as more reserved around the people he worked with.
Later in the interview, the discussion shifted to his romantic past. Wendell acknowledged having several previous relationships but clarified that these did not happen at the same time.
“Hindi naman sabay-sabay,” he said.
He also explained that he tried to avoid making promises he could not keep. Although he did not claim to have been perfect, he emphasized the importance of following through on what he told a partner.
“So far yun yung iniiwasan ko, yung mapangakuan sila and then hindi mo mapanindigan,” he shared.
Asked what lesson about love he would teach his children, the actor focused on priorities, commitment, and responsibility.
He acknowledged that his relationship with his wife had also experienced ups and downs. There were times when he was not by her side, which became part of his reflection on what a relationship requires.
For him, saying that you love someone should come with a clear understanding of your responsibilities.
“Your priorities, your commitment, your responsibility, kailangan yun,” he said.
His candid answers connected his memories of being playful in his youth with the lessons he now values as a partner and father.
