A vendor from Caloocan City became a victim of "vishing," or voice phishing.

According to Rosalie Pagatpat Ybanez, the scam began when a man called, claiming to be a bank employee.

In a report by Faith Del Mundo of News 5, which was aired in Frontline Tonight, the vendor said the caller seemed credible, as he knew all her bank transactions, convincing her to share the OTP (One-Time Password) sent to her.

Ybanez realized she had been scammed when a legitimate bank employee later informed her that approximately P500,000 had been withdrawn from her account.
