Severe Tropical Storm Trami, called Kristine in the Philippines, recently moved through the South China Sea after hitting the Philippines in October 2024. It was the 20th named storm of the season, intensifying as it moved west and impacting several Philippine regions. PAGASA issued wind alerts across areas like Bicol, Cordillera, and Ilocos, already recovering from previous storms. Daet, Camarines Norte recorded an exceptional 528.5 mm of rain, the highest 24-hour total since the 1920s.
In a previous report by KAMI, Willie Revillame personally handed P3 million donation to former VP Leni Robredo. The money will be used to help the victims of Typhoon Kristine. 3rd District Rep. Gabriel Bordado Jr. of Camarines Sur was also present during the turnover of the donation. Leni then thanked Willie for the very generous donation for the victims of Kristine.
Additionally, a heartbreaking video captured residents in Albay pleading for help due to the uncontrollable rise in floodwaters caused by Typhoon Kristine’s onslaught. Albay, located in the Bicol region, is one of the areas hardest hit by Kristine. The region continues to call for any kind of assistance as many areas remain submerged in floodwaters above head level.
