- A Grade 7 student fired a gun inside his classroom in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental

- Cebu Daily News reported that the student fired the gun on Oct. 11 at the Negros Oriental High School

- He was immediately taken into custody by authorities and is now under the care of the City Social Welfare and Development Office

- Authorities are still determining where the student got the gun he sued in school

Cebu Daily News reported that the student allegedly took the gun from his bag then fired indiscriminately outside the window.

Based on the statement of Police Major Fortunato Villafuerte, deputy chief of Dumaguete Police Station, the report about the gun was made at around 12:42 p.m.

The student allegedly took a gun from his bag, pointed out of the window and fire indiscriminately, Manila Bulletin reported.

Villafuerte said that the student was already assessed by the WCPD.

They were also determining who the owner of the firearm was.

They also suspect that the gun could have been taken by the student from a relative and without consent.

A statement from the school stated that there was no indiscriminate firing that happened.
