Mega and Rowell used to be an item during the 80’s and used to be among the favorite love teams in showbiz when they were in their late teens and early 20’s.
During that time, the two appeared together in movies like ‘Cross My Heart’ and ‘Friends In Love.’
Fans would always tease the two friends as being more than that because of their closeness to each other.

Despite their seemingly closer than friends appearance, Sharon said there was no romantic relationship.
In a Rappler report that discussed the Shawie’s conversation with netizens on Facebook, Mega revealed that she broke Rowell’s heart, though did not deserve it.
“Rowell Santiago was the only one whose heart I broke and didn't deserve it,” Shawie said.
She said her heart at the time wanted only Gabby Concepcion.
“My fault and I have been atoning to Rowell who is my good friend and often concert and TV show director nowadays and before din,” the Megastar added.
In a Dreamscape post that was reposted by Sharon, it showed how she was welcomed by Coco at the set of ‘Ang Probinsyano.’ Cory Vidanes and Laurenti Dyogi were also there for the grand welcome.
Mega, however, did not elaborate on what would her role be in the longest-running action series on Philippine television. In PikaPika's report, she also stated that her family were all very excited for her.

Veteran showbiz columnist Lolit Solis is among those who feel excited that Sharon Cuneta is now a cast member in the hit ABS-CBN teleserye “Ang Probinsyano.” She said that Sharon’s arrival on the action series is the best guesting so far in the show’s history. It is a big deal for Philippine television that Coco and Sharon are working together on a project, Lolit wrote. The entertainment columnist added that Coco is extremely lucky that his show continues to be a top-rated series.
