During an October 9 episode of Chika Cart, hosts Baninay Bautista, Donita Nose, and Jeff Fernando showed Yasmien the resurfaced clip while discussing how she stands up for her daughter, Ayesha, against bullying.

Recalling the incident, Yasmien said she and Cristine had been talking and exchanging cheek kisses before the cameras captured their confrontation. She was surprised when Cristine suddenly called her “plastic.”

“Kasi bago 'yung eksena namin na 'yon, magkausap lang kami ni AA [Cristine Reyes]. Magkausap kami the whole time, alam 'yan ng mga StarStruck team. Nagbeso-beso kami tapos pagdating ng camera sabi niya sa akin, 'You know what, Yas, I find you plastic.' So, kailangan ko siyang balikan, [kaya sabi ko], 'You know what na-find din kitang plastic,'” Yasmien shared.

Yasmien explained that she simply wanted to defend herself after feeling blindsided by the remark.

“S'yempre hindi p'wedeng magpatalo lang tayo. Hindi p'wedeng magpabida-bida lang tayo, cry lang doon. Sabi ko, 'I find you too plastic,' kasi plastik naman talaga kasi friends tayo kanina tapos sasabihin mo plastik ako,” she said.

The actress admitted that the incident affected their relationship, revealing that they rarely spoke after the competition because she was hurt by what happened.

“Parang hindi na kami gano'ng nagpansinan na. Actually, after StarStruck 1, hindi na kami masyado nag-uusap no'n kasi nga hindi ko nagustuhan 'yung nangyayari kasi sabi ko bakit gano'n niya ako tratuhin, gusto ko lang naman maging friends lahat,” Yasmien said.

Looking back, Yasmien also acknowledged that she was highly competitive when she was younger and believed this may have irritated some of her fellow contestants.

“Iba rin talaga ako before, very competitive talaga ako. At the same time, I love challenges. I love to challenge myself, gusto ko ng competition, gusto ko 'yon, ako 'yon. Siguro 'yon, naiirita sila,” the actress said.

Meanwhile, Cristine Reyes recalled how being eliminated from “StarStruck” at 14 left her struggling with self-doubt. GMA News reported that she received no votes during the competition, an experience that took a toll on her confidence. Now part of the judging panel for a new talent search, Cristine hopes young performers will understand that setbacks can help them develop rather than define their abilities. She also advised them to preserve their individuality, avoid negative influences, and remain humble as their careers progress.
