The revelation was made during the latest episode of Karen Davila's vlog, which was released on July 18. Davila traveled to Siargao to interview Eigenmann, who has embraced a quieter life away from the entertainment industry.
During their conversation, Eigenmann looked back on her early years as a child star and explained that the greatest challenge was not the work itself but the constant pressure attached to her family name.
“I don’t think that I noticed it that time. But it’s the pressure. Because obviously, I mean, technically, I am a nepo baby,” said Andi.

The term "nepo baby" is commonly used to describe children or relatives of celebrities or influential personalities who are believed to have gained opportunities through family connections. The phrase has recently gained renewed attention in the Philippines amid public discussions involving relatives of politicians and celebrities.
Although Eigenmann acknowledged that her famous lineage may have opened doors, she stressed that it also meant she had to constantly prove that she deserved every opportunity given to her.
“Before that time, when I was starting out, it was more of like because I was one, there’s even more pressure to really prove that I'm more than just a child, that I can make a name for myself, that I’ve got what it takes, that I deserve to be here.”
According to the former actress, the emotional burden affected her mental well-being while she was still growing up. Instead of experiencing an ordinary childhood, she found herself navigating life in the public eye while working to build her own career and help support her family.
