In a raw and emotional interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila, Andi opened up about the heavy weight of losing both her parents, screen legends Mark Gil and Jaclyn Jose. Reflecting on her situation, Karen pointed out that both actors passed away at relatively young ages—Mark in his 50s and Jaclyn at 60—leaving Andi an orphan in her 30s.
When asked what it was like to lose both of her anchors so early, Andi could not contain her emotions, raising both of her hands to wipe away her tears as she described her constant struggle about coping and grieving.
"It's been a struggle, of course," Andi bared through tears. "I always am able to talk about my life here, my island life, as though it's such a perfect or happy life. It is, I'm happy, I'm content. But there's now that big hole that can never be patched up," she confessed the journalist.

For Andi, the loss is made even more complicated by her deep connection to the entertainment world.
Even though she has stepped away from the spotlight to focus on her family, she feels the constant responsibility of carrying her parents' heavy legacy, especially since both were showbiz legends.
"I'm supposed to be their legacy, and sometimes, I ask myself, I question myself: Should I keep going so that I can uphold their name? Give it life even long after they're gone?" she admitted.
Ultimately, she realized that honoring them does not mean going back to the glitz and glamour of showbiz.
"My mindset is just that I hope that they can see me flourishing in this life, and that it's who they are—as authentic and strong people that inspired me to be the same. And somehow, it gets easier... but I miss them."
The most heartbreaking part of the conversation came when Andi shared the quiet daydreams she holds for her parents, imagining how they would have fitted into her peaceful life away from the city, in Siargao.
"I can't help but imagine him coming here, wanting to go fishing with my husband and trying out surfing, and my mom as well, you know, staying here in Maison Bukana," she shared, breaking into a soft laugh amid her tears. "I am sad that they never got to this point... or see this life that I've built for myself. But I sure hope they're proud," she said through the tears.
