Singer Jessa Zaragoza has shared a deeply personal update about her husband, Dingdong Avanzado, revealing that the veteran performer has been confined in the hospital for several weeks following a serious health setback.

On July 6, Jessa took to Instagram to explain her recent absence from social media and why she had to postpone several professional commitments. Along with photos taken inside Dingdong's hospital room, she apologized to supporters and admitted that it has been difficult to focus while taking care of her husband.

“I’ve been MIA dahil sa mga todo pasang kaganapan sa life😭 Pasensha na sa mga na-postpone kong scheds. Di ako maka-focus talaga😬,” she wrote.

Although Jessa chose not to disclose Dingdong's exact medical condition, she confirmed that he underwent surgery before being admitted to the hospital again on July 3. She reflected on the emotional and physical demands of caring for a loved one who is recovering from an illness.

"Between his surgery and being admitted again this past Friday. I’ve realized, di din biro mag alaga ng loved ones mo na may karamdaman. I have to be on my toes all the time pag may kailangan sya. Thank you to all our family & friends who took time to visit Dingdong (yung iba are not in the picture). Salamat sa mga padala nyong food. We appreciate you all. Thank you for the prayers."

As Dingdong celebrates his birthday on July 7, Jessa revealed that he only has one heartfelt wish.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating Dingdong’s birthday out of the hospital 🙈 Yun na lang daw ang Birthday wish nya.”

She also expressed gratitude to the doctors handling her husband's recovery, including his cardiologist, urologist, and infectious disease specialist, before ending her message with:

“Thank you Lord🙏🏻.”

Following the update, several personalities from the entertainment industry immediately extended words of encouragement.

“Prayers for Dingdong's healing and complete restoration in Jesus Mighty Name!🙏🏼 amen ❤️,” Jackie Forster commented.

TV host Suzi Abrera likewise wrote:

Days before Jessa's announcement, Dingdong had already hinted at his health battle through his own social media account. He revealed that he had recently undergone what he described as a "serious surgery" but still made an effort to attend the final stop of daughter Jayda's After the Sunset café tour despite not having fully recovered.

"Truth be told, I underwent a serious surgery last week and haven't fully recovered yet. But I couldn't skip the last stop of the After the Sunset cafe tour of @jayda last Friday, especially after she had just recently been named Female Pop Artist of the Year by PMPC Star Awards for Music. I must say, this really helped me in my healing process, especially after hearing this song 'LINYA' being performed Live by Jayda and seeing how connected her audience was with her, with every song she was churning out."

Despite the unexpected health challenge, Dingdong and Jessa are still expected to reunite with fans during their 25th wedding anniversary concert, Sa Aking Puso, scheduled on September 13 at the New Frontier Theater.
