“Example, hindi na lang sa akin, pero feeling ko kasi parang ini-expect nila na ‘pag babae hindi masyadong outspoken… like mas mahinhin, mas [prim and] proper,” the actress explained.

She added that it is only recently that the public has begun to appreciate women who are "galawgaw" or authentically themselves.

The actress revealed that she has personally felt the weight of these gendered perceptions. According to Dizon, her natural way of communicating is often misinterpreted as being overly aggressive or masculine.

Despite the labels, Dizon remains firm in her identity. She credited her nine-month training in South Korea as an idol trainee for strengthening her discipline and sense of self. Because she entered the local industry later in life compared to child stars, she felt she was already "whole," making it easier to resist the pressure to conform to a manufactured image.
