Kuya Kim Atienza is the son of Lito Atienza, a well-known politician. He is famous for his broad knowledge and love for animals. He worked as a politician from 1995 till 2004. He became the weather anchor of ABS-CBN newscast, "TV Patrol", and also hosted the educational show "Matanglawin" on the same network. Kuya Kim was also a host for the popular noontime variety show, "It's Showtime". In 2021, Kuya Kim officially became a Kapuso.

Earlier, Kuya Kim dedicated a heartfelt post to OPM icon Ely Buendia. The television presenter penned a message to Ely on the latter’s 53rd birthday on November 2. In the birthday greeting, Kuya Kim called the musician his “classmate, riding buddy and lodi rockstar friend.” The TV host also shared heartwarming photos of him with the legendary musician.
