In response to a viral video circulating on social media, the Miss Universe Philippines Organization has issued a statement on Facebook, seeking to clarify the circumstances surrounding an incident during a guest appearance on a Mexican television show.

The video in question captured Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee onstage with Miss Universe Organization owner Anne Jakrajutatip and fellow contestants from Lebanon, Germany, Colombia, Thailand, and the USA.

During the program, a woman approached Michelle, whispering something to her before she was escorted off the stage.

Amid speculation and concern from some of Michelle's fans who believed she might be facing humiliation or bullying, the Miss Universe Philippines Organization addressed the situation on social media. The organization emphasized that Michelle's exit occurred after the segment had concluded and clarified that it was prompted by Michelle's need to address her health.

According to the statement, Michelle, feeling unwell due to a demanding schedule of back-to-back engagements in recent weeks, had to excuse herself to drink water. Recognizing her condition, the MUPH Team decided it was in her best interest to return to the hotel for some rest. The organization conveyed Michelle's desire to join the city tour once she felt better, urging fans to wish her a swift recovery.

Meanwhile, a video of Michelle sharing a sweet moment with newly-crowned Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios also went viral. The video zoomed in on the post-coronation moment on the Miss U stage. She hugged Sheynnis warmly and exchanged some words, then ended it with a high-five. Michelle also took the time to thank all those who supported her Miss U journey.
