Pia Arcanghel’s interview last year with the late Mike Enriquez where the latter gave words of wisdom once again became a hot topic online.

In a post on her Instagram account, Pia uploaded a portion of her interview with the late multi-awarded broadcast journalist.

At the time, Mike was still on medical leave and was in isolation after undergoing a kidney transplant operation.

During the said interview, the veteran journalist was discussing about prayers and how he prays.

“Lahat ng dasal ko nag-uumpisa at natatapos sa pasasalamat. Always,” Mike said then.

“Kasi marami sa atin nagdadasal kapag may kailangan lang e, kapag may hihingin. meron din akong pinagdadasal pero ang umpisa at katapusan parating 'Thank you',” he added.

Mike then reminded everyone that all their possessions and all they have now are just borrowed and that’s enough to be thankful for.

“Dahil lahat ng ito, actually lahat ng meron tayo, hiram lang natin to. Pinahiram lang sa'tin and that's enough reason para magpasalamat,” Mike said during the interview.

The veteran broadcast journalist passed away at 71 on August 29, 2023, exactly one month before his 72nd birthday.

Mike Enriquez, or Miguel Castro Enriquez in real life, was a multi-awarded Pinoy television and radio newscaster. He was the president of GMA Network’s regional and radio subsidiary, RGMA Network Inc., and was also the Station Manager of Super Radyo DZBB 594 AM. Mike was also a regular anchor on 24 Oras with Mel Tiangco and Vicky Morales.

Another journalist, Anthony Taberna, also paid tribute to Mike Enriquez in a social media post. Ka Tunying said it is saddening that a pillar of broadcast media like Mike passed away. He also recalled his treasured memories about Mike, including the time when he and the late Kapuso news anchor became textmates. Likewise, Anthony offered his condolences to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, actor-singer and TV host, Gary Valenciano, took to Instagram and recalled how he and Mike Enriquez built a good friendship. He narrated how Mike was a DJ during the 80's and 90's. Mike would also help promote the shows of Gary and would give him really great support. They had some really good talks about life.
