Robert Arevalo, a veteran and multi-awarded actor, passed away this morning August 10, 2023.

The sad news about the demise of the actor, whose real name is Robert Francisco Ylagan, was announced by his own daughter, Anna Ylagan, through a Facebook post.

In her Facebook post, Anna said that the actor passed away at 10:17 this morning.

“Today is the day that the Lord has chosen to take our dearest Papa home. Robert Francisco Ylagan, a.k.a. Robert Arevalo, has peacefully passed away at 10:17am this morning, Aug. 10, 2023,” Anna’s post read.

She also expressed her love and the love of her entire family to the actor.

“Praise God for His mercy and grace. We are grateful that He has given us the best Papa one can ever wish for. Thank you for loving us the way you did, Pa,” she said in her post.

“Although our hearts are broken, we are comforted by God's promise that He has a place reserved for you in His kingdom in Heaven where all of us who believe in His son, Jesus, will one day reunite,” Anna added.

Robert’s daughter also posted details about the actor’s wake.

“Papa's wake will be at Arlington Chapels, Araneta Ave. 'Solace Rooms 1 & 2' beginning Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023 up to Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023. Thank you for all your expressions of love and sympathy. We are deeply touched and grateful,” Anna wrote.

Robert was a very familiar face in Philippine movies and TV, appearing in dozens of flicks and teleseryes, many of which earned him awards.

Robert Francisco Ylagan, more popularly known in the entertainment industry as Robert Arevalo, was a multi-awarded Pinoy movie and TV actor. He was the son of Pinoy actor and musician, Tito Arevalo. He was also related to the late Jay Ilagan.

Several Pinoy showbiz personalities also died recently. JM Canlas, the younger brother of Elijah and Jerom Canlas, passed away at 17 years old. Jerom announced the heartbreaking news in a social media post on Thursday, August 3. No specific cause of death was given but Jerom revealed, “In his adolescence, JM struggled with his mental health.”

Another known celebrity who recently passed was Patrick Guzman, a heartthrob and matinee idol of the 90’s. The actor, who also modeled in the Philippines for a popular watch brand, reportedly died in Canada. A report published by the Daily Tribune cited the post of Ogie Alcasid, one of Patrick’s co-stars in the movie “Mama’s Boys 2,” mourning the passing of the 90s heartthrob.
