Paolo Contis was absent on the June 16 episode of TAPE's "Eat Bulaga."

The actor was noticeably not present during the opening of the show, since all the hosts were already lining up onstage and he was not there.

Isko Moreno could be visibly seen taking the lead.

He then asked the audience if they noticed anything on that day.

Every host then raised their hands and sent their message to their friend and co-host, "Get well soon Paolo."

The rest of the hosts of the new "Eat Bulaga," were present.

From the start of the new "Eat Bulaga" airing, Paolo has always been present on the show.

The June 16 episode could be regarded as the first absence of the host/actor.

Other hosts who kept the show going for the audience on that day include Mavy and Cassy Legaspi, Buboy Villar, Betong Sumaya, and Alexa Miro.

Eat Bulaga is the longest-running noontime program in the world. Its hosts, including Vic Sotto, Tito Sotto, Joey De Leon, Maine Mendoza, and others announced last May 31 that they are separating from TAPE Inc., the company that produces the show. It is not yet clear as of this writing if the hosts will take the Eat Bulaga title with them to another network or if TAPE Inc. will keep the iconic name.

Paolo pleaded with the people who are bashing the staff and crew of “Eat Bulaga” who remained with TAPE Inc. He urged those people to stop bashing those staff and crew because they are just trying to feed their families. The comedian also advised those people to just bash him and the celebrity hosts instead of picking on the staff and crew. He added that the people behind the camera are the real “Eat Bulaga.”
