SexBomb Evette Pabalan has spoken about her decision to continue the life she built in Canada while her fellow SexBomb Girls enjoy renewed attention and performance opportunities.

In a recent Instagram post, Evette responded to comments suggesting that she had “opted for a normal life” instead of staying in the limelight.
While she understood what some fans meant, she admitted that the wording made her feel as though choosing a different path was being treated as the wrong decision.
“I do understand what you guys mean, and I’m genuinely happy for the girls who are back in the limelight,” she wrote.

She added, “Totoo naman, kapag gusto may paraan; kapag ayaw, may dahilan. Pero when I read ‘you opted for a normal life,’ parang lumalabas na mali ang naging choice ko.”
Evette explained that before the group’s renewed popularity, the members also dealt with comments about getting older, gaining weight, and supposedly being past their prime.
Because of this, she said she is happy to see the girls receiving opportunities again and making the most of them.
The former SexBomb member also clarified that she returned to the Philippines for reunion concerts, but not with the intention of permanently restarting her entertainment career.
By that time, she had already established a life in Canada with her own career, plans, and dreams.
“I’m a wife and a mom, and my family is a big part of the decisions I make,” she said. “At the same time, I have my own goals and choices, and I hope those can be respected, too.”
Evette had previously returned from Canada to perform with the SexBomb Girls during their reunion shows. GMA reported that she was among the members who took part in the group’s December 2025 reunion concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
In April 2026, she later announced that she would miss the concert finale at the Mall of Asia Arena, explaining at the time that she had to prioritize her family and the life they were building in Canada.
She said moving to Canada in her 30s allowed her to discover other sides of herself beyond singing and dancing. She also expressed gratitude for her career there and the Filipino communities she has become part of.
Still, the performer made it clear that she has not completely turned her back on the stage.
“Hindi ko ipagdadamot ang talento ko,” she said, adding that she would happily perform when an opportunity comes, although she now sees it more as something she can enjoy rather than her main livelihood.
The SexBomb Girls became one of the most recognizable female entertainment groups in the Philippines after first gaining prominence as backup dancers on the long-running noontime variety program Eat Bulaga! Their popularity grew into a major pop culture phenomenon, fueled by novelty songs such as “Bakit Papa?” and “The Spaghetti Song.” The group also expanded into television, becoming closely associated with the long-running afternoon drama series Daisy Siete.
As previously reported by KAMI, Mhyca Bautista of the SexBomb Girls recalled the unconventional measures she took during her younger years as she pursued her ambition of becoming part of the famous all-female dance group. Her story highlighted the determination she had while working toward her goal of joining one of the country’s most recognizable dance groups.
Earlier, Rochelle Pangilinan discussed how the SexBomb Girls have learned to handle their disagreements and challenges with greater maturity. She highlighted the importance of discipline, professionalism, a strong work ethic, and mutual respect in their work. Rochelle also said that the group remains focused on entertaining their supporters in the Philippines and overseas. While fulfilling her commitments, she expressed gratitude to her husband, Arthur Solinap, for looking after their daughter, Shiloh, whenever she is away.
