Boy Abunda is returning to GMA-7 and after signing a new contract with the Kapuso network.
A report by GMA News Online stated that Boy inked the contract on Thursday, Dec. 15 at GMA Network Center in Quezon City.
According to the same report, Boy said, “I will commit to working hard, to doing the best I can to be able to deliver the best entertainment [and] shows that I am going to do with GMA-7.”
GMA also took to its social media pages to post about Boy’s “homecoming.”

“Nagbabalik na ang King of Talk sa GMA! Welcome home, Kapuso!” it posted.
The network also posted a reel showing glimpses of the contract signing event.
According to Rappler, Boy got his break as the host of the 1994 talk show in GMA called Show & Tell, and the 1995 entertainment news show Startalk alongside Kris Aquino.
The “King of Talk” then transferred to ABS-CBN in 1999, PEP.ph noted.

Boy Abunda is one of the most prominent celebrities in the Philippines. He is dubbed as the “King of Talk” because of his excellence in interviewing people.
A few years ago, Boy was asked on his now-defunct Kapamilya show called “The Bottomline” about the GMA-7 artists that he wanted to interview if he will be given a chance. One of the names that the prominent host mentioned was Jessica Soho, a veteran broadcast-journalist in the Kapuso network. The “King of Talk” also revealed the questions that he might ask a friend if the interview that he wishes will turn into reality.
Last year, Boy appeared on a digital billboard in Times Square. The billboard on the commercial intersection in New York showed him promoting a sustainable and ethical fashion brand. The ad also showcased a “Philippine-made product that brings alive the story of ancient Filipino craftsmanship”. The King of Talk, on the other hand, felt elated seeing the said billboard personally.
