Gretchen Ho shared some details on Instagram about her last moments with her father, James Ho, who died a few days ago.

According to Gretchen, she was working in Sagada when she was informed that her dad suffered a heart attack, several months after he suffered a stroke.

The television host revealed that the stroke and cardiac arrest were caused

by congestive heart failure due to a weak heart muscle, possibly a result of a battle with long COVID.

The cardiac arrest also happened the same day Gretchen’s brother got engaged in South Africa.

After learning about the news, Gretchen left Sagada to go to her father to the hospital.

Her father was awake but non-verbal when she arrived, and he nodded when Gretchen told him that they will fight this battle together.

The next day, her brother came home from South Africa and he was also able to spend some time with their dad before his death.

Gretchen said that she would not have forgiven herself if she was not able to have those last precious moments with her father.

Gretchen Ho is a television host and former volleyball player in the Philippines. She played volleyball for the Ateneo Lady Eagles from 2008 to 2013. Her popularity rose when she became a co-host on Umagang Kay Ganda, TV Patrol, and The Score.

Previously, Gretchen took to IG Stories and shared a lovely moment with her father. She shared a photo of her and her dad riding in a van, where she said that he was so happy to be in a van again. The TV host revealed that she got the new car recently because she needed it for her show. Gretchen also said that her father even drove the van around the village, which was his last time doing so before getting sick.

Earlier, Gretchen took to Instagram and shared a photo of her mother taking a vacation in Thailand. Her mother was taking public transport and was able to fit all her suitcases in the tiny vehicle. The popular broadcaster then told her mom to take care in Thailand and reminded her not to be very stingy. Her post received a lot of responses that denote good vibes from some of her celebrity friends.
