Glenda Dela Cruz, popularly known as Miss Glenda, addressed netizens who downplayed her achievement of attending a short course at Harvard Business School, explaining why the opportunity carries a deeply personal meaning for her.

The entrepreneur took to social media to respond to comments that appeared to minimize the significance of her Harvard experience. Rather than viewing the course simply as a credential, Miss Glenda emphasized the personal journey behind her decision to study there.
She began her message by quoting the dismissive remark she had encountered: “Harvard lang naman ’yan” and later referenced another comment saying, “Certificate lang naman ’yan.”
For Miss Glenda, however, being able to study at Harvard Business School represents something considerably more significant.

“For someone like me na hindi nakatapos ng pag-aaral, dream come true ang makatungtong sa Harvard Business School,” she wrote.
She recalled that she had been a hardworking student before circumstances forced her to stop pursuing her education.
“I owe it to myself. Grabe akong mag-aral noon at alam yan ng mga kaklase at teachers ko,” she said.
Miss Glenda explained that she eventually had to leave school because of her obligations. Despite that experience, she said she does not harbor regrets about the path her life ultimately took.
“Pero dahil sa obligasyon, kinailangan kong tumigil. 🥲 Walang pagsisisi,” she wrote.
She then connected her opportunity to study abroad with the success of her business, Brilliant Skin Essentials.
“Worth it dahil may Brilliant Skin,” she said.
“Dahil sa Brilliant, afford kong lumipad ng America para mag-aral. 🙌🏻”
Miss Glenda stressed that Harvard Business School is not something she personally considers insignificant. For someone who was unable to finish school, she sees the opportunity to physically attend classes at the institution as a major personal milestone.
“#HarvardBusinessSchool isn’t ‘lang’ for me. ‘Certificate lang naman ’yan’. 🫠 NO! Harvard na ’yan!” she wrote.
She also pointed out that not everyone has the opportunity or financial means to attend such a program.
“Not everyone can be accepted and can afford it,” she added.
Miss Glenda acknowledged that there are free courses available online, but she believes there is a distinction between learning remotely and experiencing an educational program in person.
“Yes, may mga FREE Courses sa online pero iba sa personal. 🤔” she said.
The entrepreneur also revealed that her Harvard Business School experience was not her first visit for this purpose. She said the current program marked her third time attending.
“This is my third time. At excited ako sa lahat ng knowledge na mauuwi ko sa Pinas. 🇵🇭” she wrote.
For Miss Glenda, the knowledge she gains from the program is intended to extend beyond her personal development. She said she wants to bring what she learns back to the Philippines and apply it to her businesses and the people around her.
She also disclosed the financial investment involved in the one-week course.
“₱1.2M tuition for a one week course, hindi lang dahil sa certificate, but because of the knowledge, experience, and growth that I can bring back to my people and my businesses,” she explained.
She ultimately described the expense as worthwhile, emphasizing the broader value she believes comes from the experience.
