The case originated from a series of allegations Yllana made during a livestream in 2025 involving Eat Bulaga and several of its personalities. Among the claims he aired were accusations that a supposed "syndicate" existed within the noontime show. He also made allegations involving Senator Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, including a personal claim that Tito had a mistress.
In addition to the monetary award, the court issued a permanent injunction prohibiting Yllana and those acting on his behalf from publishing, broadcasting, sharing, distributing, or re-uploading the defamatory statements on TikTok, TikTok Live, or any other social media or digital platform within the territorial jurisdiction of the National Capital Judicial Region.
As of this writing, Yllana has yet to issue a public statement regarding the court's ruling and TVJ Productions' official response.
Anjo Yllana has been part of showbiz for many years, known for his comedic roles and long tenure as a host of Eat Bulaga. In recent months, however, he has been involved in several online controversies, especially after making claims about Senator Tito Sotto which he later clarified and retracted. The situation has kept him in the public eye, especially among netizens who follow showbiz issues closely.
Yllana drew attention last December after he issued an ultimatum to Manny V. Pangilinan following Cristy Fermin’s decision not to invite him on her radio program. He said he was seeking an opportunity to address criticisms linked to his remarks about Senator Tito Sotto. Anjo argued that TV5 was allegedly denying him a fair platform to explain his side. He also warned that he would urge his growing followers to stop supporting the network if the situation continued.
Earlier, Yllana apologized to the public after receiving backlash over his social media posts. He admitted having difficulty controlling his emotions, especially on newer platforms like TikTok. He said his statements were fueled by long-standing resentment and unexpressed feelings. He added that he decided to stop after being urged by friends and family.
