On Facebook on Saturday, June 27, the television personality and former athlete responded to a circulating satirical graphic listing video games as supposedly being considered for a ban due to their violent content. The post prompted him to question the basis for including several popular games on the list.
He wrote, “Wait.. totoo ba to? DOTA too cool for the kids? Or di nila naiintindihan yung game kasi too complex? Lol”

In a separate Facebook post, Tai appeared to address the issue with humor while showing his gaming setup. Alongside a photo of himself playing Dota 2, he shared an update suggesting that he remained unaffected by the debate over violent games.
The former "It's Showtime" host captioned the post, “Eruption is MARKED SAFE playing Dota 2.”
Tai's posts came after a recent statement from Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, who proposed a permanent ban on violent online games in the Philippines. According to the DILG chief, graphic online games may desensitize young people to violence and acts of killing, prompting him to urge Congress to study and consider regulatory measures on such content.
Eric Tai, also known as Eruption, is a Tongan-born Filipino actor, model, TV host, comedian and rugby union player. He also used to be one of the hosts of the noontime program "It's Showtime". Tai got married to Rona Samson in March 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cubao, Quezon City.
Earlier this year, Tai's wife shared a before-and-after video documenting her recovery after undergoing a full 360 body lift following significant weight loss achieved through years of discipline and hard work. The clip showed the loose skin left after her transformation before revealing the slimmer results of the procedure. She explained that the surgery was not about vanity but rather about healing, finding closure, and honoring everything her body had gone through throughout her weight loss journey.
As previously reported by KAMI, the television personality opened up about losing 40 pounds in just three months, trimming his weight from 255 to 215 pounds. He attributed the transformation to a structured routine that combined peptide therapy, healthy eating, and regular cardio and resistance exercises. Tai also shared that peptides including Tirzepatide, Retatrutide, and the "Wolverine Stack" supported his appetite control, fat loss, and recovery. Even so, he emphasized that lasting results came from consistency rather than shortcuts, with proper rest serving as a crucial part of the process.
