In a candid interview on Ogie Diaz’s vlog, Bimby Aquino, the youngest child of Kris Aquino, opened up about his mother’s struggle with multiple autoimmune diseases, which have required her to reside in the United States for ongoing treatment.

Bimby reflected on the challenging journey that began in 2018 when Kris was first diagnosed. “When we learned about mom’s illness [in] 2018, it took me a few years to really accept, like two years to accept, but after acceptance, you learn to surrender lang,” he shared.

He spoke of the limitations he feels in alleviating his mother’s suffering, emphasizing the human element of their experience. “Hindi ako Diyos, I can only do so much to alleviate her, to help her. Pero at the end of the day, I can't fully take it away 'di ba? Kasi tao lang ako, tao lang si mama. All I can do is love her, support her, take care of her.”

Bimby also highlighted the resilience and fighting spirit of his mother. “Fighter kasi si mama e, fighter talaga, and all my titas really take the time to talk to me na, ‘Bimb, your mom’s a fighter, she’s got this.’”

Despite the tough moments, Bimby remains hopeful and inspired by his mother’s determination. “There are those moments na parang naaawa ka nang sobra kay mama, but I know that kaya ‘to ni mama. Wala lang ‘to kay mama."
