Actress Rica Peralejo took to Instagram to open up about her mental health struggles. According to Rica, her recent injuries have taken a toll on her, not only physically but most of all mentally and emotionally.

The celebrity mom admitted that the initial months of not being able to do her hobbies were excruciating for her. Fortunately, yesterday, Rica was able to do her first long distance record, being able to run without feeling pain.

Aside from the message, Rica also shared clips of her crying and breaking down amidst her ordeal.

Some have the goal of making a new personal record. Some have a goal of beating others’ records. My goal yesterday was merely: run pain-free during and even after. To run at all, actually! Cause not much of you know how painful it was for me not only physically, but more mentally, emotionally, morally, be told “stop moving” especially when physical fitness was intrumental in getting me out of my passive suicidal state. Those initial months were excruciating to my spirit. The demoralization hit me hard during those weeks and some of those moments I was able to record in the latest episode of “Life Begins At Forty.”

BTW, we air every end of month. So we showed this yesterday….on the day of my very first long distance record and when I was able to run pain-free again. What are the odds, yes? So maybe this is also to encourage you that healing is real. Our bodies recover talaga.

Rica Peralejo is an actress who used to be a cast member of “Ang TV.” The former actress is now married to a Christian pastor named Joseph Bonifacio. They have two children, Philip Nathaniel and Manu.
