The child's body was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival, reportedly covered in bruises from the severe physical assault.

The mother was subsequently arrested and faces the grave charge of parricide.

According to reports from neighbors, the fatal incident was preceded by sounds of continuous physical abuse.

Residents recounted hearing the young girl desperately pleading with her mother to stop the beating.

The cries of the child eventually subsided, leading to an eerie silence. It was only then that the mother reportedly sought help from neighbors to rush the unconscious child to the hospital.

Upon inspection, hospital personnel immediately noted the severe injuries and alerted law enforcement, leading to the swift arrest of the mother at the medical facility.

During police questioning, the mother allegedly admitted to hitting the child, claiming that she was provoked by the girl being unruly and messy.

This statement, however, failed to account for the fatal extent of the injuries found on the child’s body.

The local authorities have gathered testimonies from neighbors, who witnessed the mother using a piece of wood or stick during the assault. These accounts will be crucial in building the case against the accused.

The suspect is now facing a charge of Parricide under the Revised Penal Code, a severe felony in the Philippines that involves a person killing their own child.

Given the nature of the crime, the mother could also face charges under Republic Act No. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act), which mandates harsh penalties for ch1ld abuse, especially when it results in death.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the persistent and grim issue of domestic violence and ch1ld abuse in the country, prompting immediate action from child welfare agencies to review the circumstances that led to the child's death and to ensure the protection of any other minor in the household.

Local authorities are urging the public to report any suspected cases of ch1ld abuse, emphasizing that such violence, particularly within the supposed safety of the home, is intolerable.
