Janelle Salvador had kept mum about her pregnancy even though rumors that she was carrying a child have already been making rounds on social media.
In a recent interview by Kryz Uy and Slater Young for their Skypodcast, Janella finally divulged why she had kept her pregnancy hidden from the public.
The actress honestly admitted that she had been scared of the scrutiny and criticism she would be subjected to because of her young age.
“Of course, it’s not easy, especially at my age because there was a lot of criticisms, harsh criticisms.”

Janella also explained that she had wanted to keep her pregnancy as stress-free as much as possible and so she decided to keep her situation private.
“I didn’t want the stress. I needed the peace and quiet to have a happy pregnancy. We wanted to enjoy it as a family. Keep it private muna."
She also claimed that she obviously wouldn't keep her child a secret forever but she wanted to enjoy the moments and said it was "The calm before the storm."
Janella was also very candid about what went down with her mother Janine Desiderio. The actress admitted to having an "unstable-ish" relationship with her mother.
The actress revealed that she informed her mother of the news when she was already 4 months pregnant and rumors had already been circulating online. Janella revealed that her mom had already guessed the truth about the rumors.
“When I told her, ‘Mama, I need to tell you something,’ ganyan.
"And then she was, ‘What? You’re pregnant?' It was so scary.”
Janella divulged that she got mad when someone spread the news that she was pregnant as it took away her chance of telling her family first before anyone else.
"When I went to the hospital, one of the interns spread the news. I was so pissed honestly cause these are things that you want to tell your family members personally."
Janine also shared that though the way she had revealed her pregnancy to her mother was not optimal, her mother had supported her throughout the whole experience.
Janine had gone public about her pregnancy when she posted a vlog entitled "Hey, Jude" on her YouTube channel chronicling her pregnancy journey last January 5, 2021.
