90-year-old celebrant dies on day of party, baker wonders what to do with unfinished cake

- A baker stayed up late to bake two 10 x 4 cakes for a birthday party meant for a 90-year-old

- Just as she as about to do the frosting at around 4:30 a.m., she received a message informing her that the celebrant passed away

- Now in a quandary, the baker took to Facebook, and asked for advice from an FB group what to do with the cake

- Some say, she should continue baking and just send it as a gesture of condolences

Jackylou Sanchez Husain, a baker based in Butuan City, took to a Facebook group and expressed her quandary over what to do with the unfinished cake that she was baking, simply because the 90-year-old celebrant died on the day of the party.

It was already 4:30 a.m., just when she was about to put the frosting on the cakes when she received a text message, saying that the 90-year-old passed away.

When she asked for advice from the group, many said that she would just give the cake as a gesture of her deep sympathies.

RV Manabat, a vlogger and chef, said, "So for the effort won’t go to waste, I would continue the cake and send it to the family. The challenge is, it’s hard to collect the payment, during their mourning times — I would just give the cake as a gesture of my deepest sympathy," as reported by Manila Bulletin.

The Facebook post has already been deleted, but the baker's situation is one that does not happen often.

Unique stories like these never fail to touch the hearts of Filipinos and receive a lot of social media attention. The fact that the celebrant died on the very day that the party will be held and with the cake still to be delivered, are the things that make the story really unique.
