A Cebu City business owner allegedly lost around ₱3 million worth of cash and valuables after a household helper left the house and failed to return.

According to a report on GMA’s Balitanghali, the female helper told her employer that she was going out to buy cellphone load. However, what was supposed to be a short errand was followed by the discovery that money and valuable belongings were missing.

The report described the helper’s explanation before leaving: “Nagpaalam daw ang babaeng kasambahay na lalabas lang para magpa-load pero hindi na bumalik.”

The employer later discovered the loss of cash, a high-end watch, and other jewelry. The missing money and belongings reportedly had a combined value of approximately ₱3 million.

The business owner said the woman began working for the household in August. According to the report, the employer had met her online before she was hired as a household helper.

After discovering the missing valuables, the victim posted about the alleged theft on social media. The employer subsequently learned that the suspect reportedly had a previous theft case.

That information was mentioned in the news segment, although it did not provide further details about the earlier case or its outcome. The report also did not identify the person who informed the employer about it.

The incident has already been reported to the police. The victim has also offered a reward to anyone who can provide information that would help locate the suspect.

In another report, a man was injured after he was allegedly attacked by a group of seven to 10 people at the plaza in Dueñas, Iloilo. A video showed several men surrounding the victim before he was repeatedly kicked during the incident. The attack reportedly happened at the Plaza of Dueñas. Recently, an unidentified man died after he was allegedly caught taking a fighting rooster in Consolacion, Cebu, according to a report on Balitanghali. Police said the 52-year-old owner was sleeping when he woke up and noticed that someone was allegedly taking his fighting rooster. He then confronted the man. During the encounter, the owner reportedly struck him in the head with a hardened piece of cement. Authorities took the rooster owner into custody after what happened. Police said he is expected to face a hόmicide complaint in connection with the man's death.
