30-year-old Fil-Am Angelo Quinto dies after police knelt on his neck, family claims

Angelo Quinto, a 30-year-old Fil-Am, who was born in the Philippines, died after police knelt on his neck while he was having a mental health crisis, leaving him bloodied and unconscious, his family claimed. Three days later, he died.

The kneeling incident happened on Dec. 23 but the case went unresolved. Now, the family is planning to file a legal claim against the Antioch Police Department in California.

According to Fox KTVU, the mother of Angelo, Cassandra Quinto-Collins heard her son's last words, "Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me."

The Cut noted that in January, the local press already questioned why the police did not make the incident known to the public. An official also said that the officers already called an ambulance for Quinto to be put in a mental facility but while waiting, he had a medical emergency.

According to the Insider, when the responders realized that he was not responding anymore, they cuffed him and put him on a stretcher.
