Karen Pence was born on 1st January 1957 in the Kansas United States of America as Karen Sue Batten. Her father and mother are called John Batten and Lillian Batten respectively. Her father worked as an official in the United Airlines until 1988.
John and Lillian got a divorce, and her mother entered into her second marriage with a Latin teacher by the name Bernard F. Barcio in 1967. As a result, she was brought up in Broad Ripple Village in Indianapolis.
Pence attended Bishop Chatard High School. Later on, she joined Butler University Indiana and undertook a course in teaching with a specialization in arts.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in elementary education. She dedicated the following 25 years of her life after university, to teaching and training.
