Wilson, who was charged this January with six years in prison, told police that Dakota ran away from home to a neighbor's house, claiming she eventually brought him back before the crime.
Upon retrieving him, Wilson allegedly tried to restrain Dakota who threw himself on the ground, deciding to sit on the child's midsection for around five minutes according to Fox News' report.
Initially, Wilson even thought that Dakota was faking it before rolling him over and noticing that his eyes had started to go pale, prompting her to perform CPR before calling 911 afterward.
Wilson eventually pleaded guilty to reckless homicide in October 2024 while in January 2025, Senior Judge Michael Bergerson sentenced her to six years in a state correctional facility.
Needless to say, the case made headlines and went viral amongst netizens all over social media.
The case has also raised significant concerns about the safety and well-being of children in foster care, highlighting the need for stricter measures and oversight to protect vulnerable children.
